Project 52 Resolution

project 52 p52 weekly photo challenge my3boybarians.com

I got a new camera for Christmas. Its been on my wish list for over a year but it took me a awhile to figure out which camera I wanted (I decided on a Nikon COOLPIX S9100 12.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 18x NIKKOR ED Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens and Full HD 1080p Video (Black) — note this is an affiliate link). And then I waited for it to go sale (hubby got it at a good price at Best Buy).

I don’t aspire to be a professional photographer but I do aspire to be a better photographer. I want to learn how to use my camera to its fullest and to take better pictures.

So I thought I’d participate in Project 52, a weekly photo challenge hosted by Darcy at My 3 Boybarians. I discovered her blog during her 31 Days to a Better Photo series; check it out.

The theme for week one is resolutions. I don’t think my photo is terribly creative (another reason to keep at the challenge) but it represents some of my goals for the year, both personal and professional.

What are your goals for 2012? How would you represent them in a photo?

  1. Congratulations on your new camera! I hope you have a blast with it =)

Some of my goals (besides the one I posted today!) include exploring every part of Oahu, finding some kind of employment, and learning to put aside stress and problems and just be happy. The first would be easy to be put in a photo — gorgeous island pictures, duh! For the 2nd goal, maybe some kind of want ad with a check mark, and for the last goal, probably one of those “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters that are so popular. I should make one and hang it in the house!

Happy New Year, and good luck with this challenge!

  2. I have had a DSLR for almost 4 years now and just learned how to take it off the auto setting. As a New Years Resolution I was determined to take better pictures. I took a 4 week photography class and am now in love with my camera. So much to learn but I’m having a blast. I was thinking of starting this. I’ve read a ton of the 30 days to better photography and a better photo and love the series. Looking forward to following your 52 weeks!

    • Oh, how I wish I’d kept up with this challenge. Might be a resolution for another day. How was the class for you? I might need someone to show me how to use my camera. 🙂
